After 47 years Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 1 closed its doors to passengers for the last time in 2015. British European Airways was the first operator to fly from Terminal 1 when it was opened by the Queen in May 1968. The closure allowed for the expansion of Terminal 2 known as the Queens Terminal.

On Saturday 21st April AAC made history by becoming the first winners of the first lot of Heathrow Terminal 1 fixtures and fittings.

The auction attracted national coverage with the Independent newspaper mentioning AAC?s own Dennis Toko as the winner of the first item.

“It was a proud moment, aviation is in our blood and with many of our team having worked at T1 for a number of years it was important to us to claim a piece of Heathrow history that reflected our own”

Dennis Toko, AAC Commercial Director.
